First the basics then, we'll go screen by
screen.
- The Digital DJ Music System™ is set up much like a program director does for a typical radio station.
- We start with the music in all different types of formats. Slow, Fast, Pop, Rock, Dance, etc...
- After the locations of these music files are added through the "Program Director" to the
Digital DJ™, we can set what time of day, what day of the week and how often we want to play the
selection on a record level.
- Then, we can arrange these audio files into categories of our choice and select the same options on a
global level for each category.
- Now, We add some promo's, snipits, commercials (each with special settings of their own) and you've got
the perfect mix.
- Digital DJ™ takes over. Plays all of this in a random order based on the timing and categories you set
up. We'll get in to all of the cool automated features like Power Play and 2x Play for Charted songs as
you read through the instructions.
- Now, On With The Class...

Quick Start
So, you don't want to read everything now…
Select File, Then "Auto Add
Selections"
Select the folder that contains your media files
and press go. (Follow the prompts) Note: load at least 20 selections.
Close the program director then, press F12 to
run the jukebox players.

PROGRAM LOGIC FLOW (Methodology):
(How does Digital DJ™ select the music?)
Music Play:
Level 1: Select Categories:
Digital DJ™ selects the active categories
from the Master
Schedule database and then marks the records in the master database ( Category
Tab) which have matching active categories. These are now the Active Entries.
Level 2: Random Selection
Digital DJ™ takes a random selection from
the total Active Entries in its' database.
Level 3: Check Record level scheduling:
OVER RIDES:
The "Power Play" function on the Setup
screen overrides normal random selection when active. "Power Play" forces the system to pick a
"HOT" selection every (n) number of songs. Hot songs are charted songs listed on the Charts
Tab
Special Files See Special
File Section
Least Played: That right! We thought about
this one too! (I always hated those programs that never seem to play certain songs) So, After every (n)
selections set on the Setup
Screen, The Digital DJ Music System™ finds the least played ACTIVE (Category driven) selection and loads
it up!
User Generated Play List: See the Custom
Play List Screen
Block Party Mode: see Setup
screen. 2, 3, 4 5, in a row by the same artist! And a global 2 for Tuesday option.
CD Mix: See CD Mix below
By The Way, If you've
gone this far, you might as well buy it! It's A DJ's Dream come true. If
you're in broadcast, Mobil DJ, Night Club, At Home Music Lover, or just plain love music. The Digital DJ Music
System™ won't let you down!

amount of times you wish the selection to play for the given time period. Digital DJ™ waits until the

maximum is reached; it automatically re-calculates a new reset time and starts the total counters to 0.

Chart Positions (Section):
First, A word about Chart Automation:
The Digital DJ Music System™ recalculates your four charts like this:
General: The system automatically
recalculates all charts every day at 12:30am assuming the Digital DJ Music System™ is running at the
time.
Requests Chart: The system
automatically recalculates the top 75 requests (Driven by the monthly total). This in turn automatically
activates the 2x play option. The Deluxe Home edition and higher will then create an automatic playlist
called "TopRequest". This will appear on the program manager under this title. You can then
adjust the play schedule.
Top 40, Top Country, and Top Dance
Charts: The system automatically recalculates the top 75 requests (Driven by the monthly total). This in
turn automatically activates the 2x play option. The Deluxe Home edition and higher will then create an
automatic playlists called "TopDance, TopCountry, And Top40". These will appear on the program
manager with the associated titles. You can then adjust the play schedule.
Note: The "2X Play" logic
turns on automatically if a song is listed on one or more of these charts. 2X Play allows Digital DJ to
play this selection twice as much. Example: If you have programmed the song to play a max of Day=1,
Week=5, Month=20 then, 2X Play will allow plays up to twice those amounts.
Top 40 / Country / Dance: Allows you
to enter the current chart position for the selected song.
The Top40 / Country / Dance headings do not
have to represent the actual type of chart indicated. You can use each chart for your own type of music.
Positions in the charts are what you make
them. See "Special File Setup" below.
Top Request: Digital DJ
automatically re-calculates all of your requests entered on the Jukebox/Player
on a daily basis. The top 75 will appear automatically in this field. You may edit this field but, it is not
suggested because it will be erased on a daily basis.
Special File Setup
(Section): (Program Director Charts Tab)
Timed Promo: Allows you to set a selection for
a specific time to be played.
Snipit: Scheduling works just like a normal file
except:
Top 40 / Top Request / Top Country / Top Dance

will light green.
Clear All Buttons: Clears the charts so that you
can find and reset the actual chart positions for "Top40", "Dance", and,
"Country" charts. This does not clear the special "INTRO Snipit" files.

Program
Director Base Schedule Tab

through Sunday check boxes to enable the selection for that day.
Schedule Time Limiter Box:
Max Plays Status Box : Day / Week / Month

that many times. Digital DJ will continue to count until it reaches the maximum allowed preset (or 2 times
that amount if "2X play is active") before it checks to see if the max reset date has passed. If
passed, Digital DJ resets the counter. Get it?
