Travel Journal - Day 4
Church and the Great Wall
Another busy, fun filled day in the city of Beijing! We started our day
out by going to Beijing’s International Christian Fellowship Church, and I
must say that it was one of the most inspiring services that I have ever
been at. The number of countries represented there were over 60, and to see
everyone worshipping the Lord together, in one place, was unexplainable!!
Just standing there, singing praise music put this whole journey into
perspective. We are here because the Lord led us here, and we are so
grateful to have Him in our lives. To Him be all the glory!!! Wow!! After
church we headed to the Jade factory. It was very interesting to hear about
the different qualities of jade, and see how it is carved and polished. We
had lunch and headed to the Great Wall. It was absolutely amazing! The wall
stretches over 4600 miles, and is the only man made object that can be seen
from space. I made it up about ¼ of the way, and Dana made it to the very
top!! The Chinese people believe that a true man is one who can climb the
Great Wall, and they view that man as a hero! Dana is our true HERO!! ( :
After the Great Wall we went for a Peking Duck dinner at a 5 star
restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the company was great. We
have really gotten to know our travel mates, and I can already tell that
they will be lifelong friends. We were given the option to attend an
acrobatics show this evening, and our family and a few others decided to go.
I am so glad that we went, even though we were tempted to shut our eyes and
sleep sometimes during the performance!! The flexibility and extreme
acrobatics they demonstrated just didn’t seem right for a normal person to
do!! Really fun to see. Dana and I and Mom and dad are now in our rooms
packing up our bags for a 10:00 deadline for our bags to be in the hallway
tonight. Tomorrow morning our group is separating up and heading to our
provinces to get our beautiful girls. Some of the group will be getting up
at 5:00 am to make an early flight out to their province. Our province that
we are going to, the Jiangxi Province, doesn’t leave until 9:00 in the
morning. So, we are able to sit and stew and wish we were leaving earlier
because we all know what is at the end of our flight--Daughters!!!! It
sounds like all of the groups, no matter what time they leave, will be
receiving their daughters at around 4:30. So, we really will try to get in
some extra hours sleep before the big day. Do you think it will happen???
Hmmmmm???? We will be getting our daughters at 3:30 a.m. your time, so you
all will be sleeping right through it!! Well, Dustin and Jonah, the time is
finally almost here and we will be holding your sister in our arms!! Can’t
wait to send the pictures. Pray for us!!

still miraculously my own

You
didn’t grow

For ye have not
received the spirit of bondage again to
