Travel Journal - Day 11

Don't you love that smile!!!!! This has been our little girl today!
Elaine has been with our family one week and what a difference. I looked
back at "Gotcha Day" and then looked at today's picture and all I
can say is "WOW", "GOD IS SO GOOD"! I left the room for
about 40 minutes today to work on the computer and she played with the girls
and Mike and even let Mike change her diaper. (We are going to have to work
on re-training her when we get home.) She cried a few times when Mike picked
her up but she let him play and color with her and feed her. We take any
steps forward we can get! We went shopping and she came to life! That's my
girl. haha She walked all around, smiled at the workers, giggled and played
and had just a great time. She had no nap, it was extemely hot and she was
in a great mood. Go figure! We are in amazement at how far she has come and
how she is adjusting. We know that there are many more tough times ahead but
we know we can handle them. T! hank you everyone for your prayers!
We go to the Consulate tomorrow and then it will probably take the rest
of the day just to pack. We leave at 5:45am, Wed., China time. That means
that when we arrive in Albuquerque, we will have been traveling for 23hours!
Oh, we are not looking forward to the jet lag. We will have to make
ourselves stay up and adjust back to New Mexico time.
We are looking forward to everyone meeting little Lani. Our guides were
telling us again to take visits/trips slow and let the kiddo's adjust to
their new surroundings. We promise to have her meet you guys as soon as she
is ready!
Thanks again to everyone for all your encouragement!
We will post on Tue. pm - Tue. am for U.S. I will try to post Wed. night
from home to let everyone know how we are doing at home.
The Grateful Goff Gang oh... I was just reading over several of the posts
and I made quiet a few spelling mistakes. Shows you how tired I have been!
