Travel Journal - Day 8
Hi all! Today is our last night at the hotel in Jiangxi. We will be
leaving for Guangzhou tomorrow evening. We have a late flight that doesn't
land until almost 10 pm, so I'll either post tomorrow afternoon, or I will
on Saturday. We'll see how re-packing goes tomorrow! LOL
Today we went and picked up Abby's Chinese passport and some other
documents we need over the next few days. Abby needs this to come into the
US. She wasn't feeling all that great - all the babies have colds, and so we
decided not to do any tours today since it is cold outside. We did go to the
porcelain store next to the hotel, and I picked up some beautiful things. I
really wanted to have some things to give her when she's older since Jiangxi
is famous for it. My mom pushed her around in stroller while I ran to the
store - she LOVES being in the stroller and coos and kicks her feet.
Abby is obsessed with cheerios. It's almost all she wants to eat! I tried
giving her pears tonight and she hated them! LOL She won't eat congee
anymore (it's sort of like a rice soup). That's what they were eating the
first couple of days, and now that we've given them a taste of other things,
the babies don't want it anymore.
Soooo, tonight my mom, Kim and I, and 2 other of the ladies we're
traveling with are getting massages. Massages from a blind couple I might
add. Apparently, there is a school for blind people that teaches them how to
do massage and they are supposed to be fabulous. It only costs $20 for an
hour! It would run us about $80 at home, so we're going to try it. Guilan
swears by it and says it is absolutely amazing. I'm a little freaked out and
we're making lots of jokes about how do they know where to stop, etc.
I've got to run; hope you enjoy today's pictures of the adorable Miss
Abby. She's just the sweetest baby. She's getting more and more attached
every day and it just warms my heart. Whenever I walk back into the room she
smiles. I feel so blessed to have her as my daughter. Can't wait for all of
you to meet her.
Miss everybody! Scott and Evan - 6 more days. Can't wait, can't wait to
be home. I'm living for the moment when I get off that plane and see you...I
love you so much and miss you more than you know.
Hugs and kisses to all from Mommy and Abby
