"I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared."

Travel Day 8

Thursday, November 11, 2004 - Nanchong -Finding Spot

Today we visited Kya's birth city, Nanchong. From very nice to dirt poor, no in between. The day was incredible. Nanchong is 3 hours from Chengdu so we spent over 6 hours on the bus today, but to see the city where our daughter was born was the most amazing experience. Once we actually arrived at the finding location, I was overwhelmed with emotion. I just stood and cried in the middle of the street. The farmer's market was so poor and life seemed so different that I could not comprehend living that life, not that it's a bad life, I just cannot relate, it's so very different. It was also so emotional to think that Kya was there just 6 months ago being placed by either her birth mom or dad, or other relative. She said goodbye to her birth mom and dad here and also was able to say hello to her new life with her new mom and dad here.
