"I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared."

- Exodus 23:20

Travel Day 1

Thursday, November 4, 2004 - Leaving Home

And, we are off...somewhere over the rainbow...to the land where babies are abundant and our angel awaits.

Tonight we tidy up, get our nerves under control, take a deep breath, try to get wink of sleep and dream about our pot of gold, on the other side of our rainbow. It is 7:30AM in Nanchong, Sichuan China and my daughter is waking up to Thursday morning, her last Thursday in an orphanage, her last Thursday without parents, without a family.

And, at 7:30 AM Thursday morning, our time (EST) we leave on our long awaited journey. Our last Thursday without her. It's been 15 months but that is not too long when it comes to making our dreams come true.

Although our daughter lives in an orphanage and no family...we find that we are the lucky ones. Lucky that she will be our daughter, lucky that "The Matchmaker" put her in our lives.
